Google's new project "Tango"
According to google....
Current prototype is a 5” phone containing customized hardware and software designed to track the full 3D motion of the device, while simultaneously creating a map of the environment. These sensors allow the phone to make over a quarter million 3D measurements every second, updating its position and orientation in real-time, combining that data into a single 3D model of the space around you.
It runs Android and includes development APIs to provide position, orientation, and depth data to standard Android applications written in Java, C/C++, as well as the Unity Game Engine. These early prototypes, algorithms, and APIs are still in active development. So, these experimental devices are intended only for the adventurous and are not a final shipping product.
Where can this be used?
What if you could capture the dimensions of your home simply by walking around with your phone before you went furniture shopping? What if directions to a new location didn’t stop at the street address? What if you never again found yourself lost in a new building? What if the visually-impaired could navigate unassisted in unfamiliar indoor places? What if you could search for a product and see where the exact shelf is located in a super-store?
Imagine playing hide-and-seek in your house with your favorite game character, or transforming the hallways into a tree-lined path. Imagine competing against a friend for control over territories in your home with your own miniature army, or hiding secret virtual treasures in physical places around the world?
Sure without doubt this would be next generation smartphone!

Facebook Era - Facebook to buy Whatsapp
To note that , Whatsapp was founded by a Ukrainian college dropout, Jan Koun and alumnus of Stanford , Brain Acton. Whatsapp has around 450 million users in last five years. This deal of social media giant moving closer to the heart of mobile communication will surely bring more new users into Facebook .
But there is always a question in the mind about Data security. Will there be a security issues with the users private data? Whatsapp being accessing your contacts as such , now it may be a concern whether Facebook will be able to access the same. But, the deal says that Whatsapp will be functioning as a separate entity , so the threat towards the security may be lesser. But, still Facebook should be responsible in handling the user's data. I feel it's apt to name it as "Facebook era", don't you feel the same!

Google buys Nest for $3.2 billion
Yet another milestone by Google, it buys the smart thermostat maker for $3.2 billion.
What made Google to acquire the smart thermostat maker? Does it really help Nest? The answer is yes. If we dig the past, Google was into a thermostat business called as energy sense, which was to be closed in 2011 after several attempts. Google wanted to gain access to the energy monitoring system and nest is best known for its thermostat, especially the so called Nest Learning Thermostat, which learns the temperature preferences of the users which can save energy and smoke alarms that can keep the family safe. Nest wanted to increase the reach among the users and this acquisition will be a mutual benefit.
Google had also accquired Motorola Mobility two years before for $12.5 billion.Been said that, this means Google is taking more serious move towards hardware and software than just providing a search engine and online platform.
May be in the near future like whirlpool, LG we may also have loyal customers for Google when it comes to home automation.

Humorous commercials- New promotional strategy
Humorous commercial have increased a lot among the companies inorder to get the customer attention. Studies say that humorous commercials increase brand recall among the consumers. Say, for an example , PepsiCo's new 7 up add , where a person dances in front of the person who feels low and exhausted and gives a quote "feel Up". The cockroach killer HIT , where a couple tries to save a cockroach so that it would go and kill other cockroaches in home. Even the snickers commercial where a person turns into an actress because he is hungry and gets back to normal after having a bite. So, its seriously interesting tat people remember the ads which involve emotions and humour.
If humour is used in a right way, sure the companies can attract the customers and also it can increase brand recall. But , if there is a overdosage of humour , there are chance where customers can recall the commercial but not the brand.
