"When someone deserves your time.." - Titan Raga Diva

Titan Raga always ensures a emotional bond in all its commercials. This Wedding season, Titan raga has rolled out a thought provoking commercial for women to 'Make her Choice' with the tag line - "Her life, Her Choice".

The Ad features Kathrina Kaif as a bride getting ready for the 'Big Day'. The ad highlights the pressure Indian women faces to get married because of peer pressure (friends, relatives, family, etc). The ad clearly conveys the message 'Not to get married for a wrong reason' and one should get married 'when someone deserves your time’.

Towards the end of the commercial, they show the mesmerizing Titan Raga and Kathrina voice over says, "Titan Raga. Khud se naya rishta (a new relationship with oneself)". Titan has done a great brand positioning. Kudos to Ogilvy & Mather creative agency for giving out such a beautiful Ad.

As the wedding Bells Ring, Titan Watches will Tick!!

The day when Newspaper started speaking!

I guess its September (Forgot the date), it’s really when newspaper spoke to me. The entire town woke up with this cool and innovative ad campaign run by Volkswagen India in leading dailies like The Times of India and The Hindu. This is the first ever attempt of advertising through a 'talking newspaper'. The campaign was for its latest out bringing called the Volkswagen Vento and it ran across five metros, namely Mumbai, Pune, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai.

As a marketer, if someone has a question “Does advertisements have impact in buying decision?”, the answer would be definitely “Yes!”. I really love all the commercials of Vento, May be that’s what created a passion in me to buy that car. Still today, I haven’t seen any innovative ad similar to that.

I really feel that Volkswagen never compromises when it comes to innovation, be in its product or advertising. The company takes all its work so seriously, to bring out the best. Even the tag line “it is THE car not A car” evokes attention of both, that they are a German engineering company and confidence in their product.

No wonders, it is a Volkswagen, THE CAR!

E-commerce booms in India !

Ease of buying things by sitting at home or office, avoiding heavy traffics, finding a parking space makes the E-commerce to gain its strength in India.

Flipkart, Snapdeal and Myntra are a few startups that changed the people’s mindset and drove them to purchase accessories, books online. Now, world’s biggest retailers including Amazon, Walmart and eBay are rushing to capture their market share in India.

India’s e-commerce market is projected to grow sevenfold to $22 billion in the next five years, as Internet infrastructure improves further, making it easier for the country’s nearly 200 million online population to shop on-the-go. India’s e-commerce market is currently worth $3.1 billion.

An important factor helping e-commerce growth in categories such as fashion, home decor, jewelry and baby care, is growing influence of women shoppers. Myntra, nearly doubled in value from $278 million in 2012 to $559 million in 2013. Even mobile commerce is also picking up with a few companies like book my show, Paytm etc.

May be in the near future, India can also see few E-commerce giants like Instacart which helps to shop groceries online. But the biggest bottleneck for internet business in India is going to be the existing regulations that don’t seem to be in sync with the new business models.

Ebay to set its footprint strong in India with Snapdeal

eBay, a US based online-market portal increases the stake in Snapdeal, a Indian based Online-market portal by investing $130 million. eBay's acquisition of Snapdeal, shows that the US based online marketplace is trying to expand its presence in India  in counter attacking to its rival Amazon.com who is expanding its business in India rapidly.

Snapdeal which is run by Jasper Infotech Pvt ltd, a Delhi based company is the second largest online retailer in India. eBay has already bought the stake of Snapdeal for $50 million last April, and now it increases it to $130 million. It seems that eBay would buy Snapdeal as it is the only way to build its presence in India on  a large scale.

Competition in Indian e-commerce space has been increasing rapidly with the entry of the world’s largest online retailer like Amazon.com, which launched its India’s marketplace in June last year. It seems like online retailing is raising its hand among the Indian consumers who choose online market places to buy books and electronic gadgets .

I'm loving it Vs Finger licking is good

I was just thinking about fast food and suddenly came these two names in my mind KFC & McD. So, just thought of blogging down my views....

Let's take a scenario , you go to a mall for shopping, you suddenly feel hungry and you look out for some eat out , for sure you can definitely see these two names " Mc Donald's and KFC ".Today's world has set its requirement high towards fast food as there is no time to prepare food not even having a time to eat a decent meal. Both the fast good giants have their own key skill in their unique foodie they offer. When it comes to hamburger it's McD and when it comes to fried chicken it's KFC, they stand unique with their dishes.

Let's have a quick look at their profiles....

Mc Donald's

McD was started in the year in the year 1940 with its presence in 119 countries and 58 million customers a day. The mascot of McD was the hamburger headed man wearing a chef's hat later replaced by the popular Clown Man. The competitive advantage of McD is it's tasty food at small price and also customization of the menu according to countries. The ambience of the restaurant differs in settings and purpose, with the excellent drive through facility for car passengers to take away the menu. It offers decent variety of menu for both vegetarian and non vegetarians. Their key performance indicator is their express service system which was first of its kind in fast food industry.

KFC

KFC was started as a small road side restaurant around 1930 in Corbin, Kentucky. KFC was founded by Harland Sanders, is the second largest fast food chain next to McD. The restaurant was opened during Great Depression where almost all the business were shutting down, but the taste of the deep fried chicken attracted American has made the restaurant a great hit. Initially KFC was named as Sanders Court and Cafe after it's founder . Today we can see the image of a man (sanders) with the name of the company. KFC offers wide variety of Grilled and roasted Chicken.

Whether it's McD or KFC , it's sure both the meal are really enjoyable and best of its kind. But, McD seems to be the best than compared to KFC for fewer reasons like, KFC doesn't provide a good menu for vegetarian lovers. Moreover McD beats KFC in terms of campaign and advertising . McD tries to attract customers with great exciting offers , presenting toys n specialized meal to kids and also organizes fest whereas KFC seems to have lesser customer interaction and entertainment.

Apart from these, for sure the taste buds starts salvation when we hear both the names . For sure both the fast food gaints will surely attract next generation youngster!

Google's new project "Tango"

Google unwraps it's new 3D sensing smart phone project "Tango". This is yet another milestone by the internet giant.Google has announced an experimental project "Tango Smartphone platform" which is embedded with a vision processor named Myraid 1.

According to google....

Current prototype is a 5” phone containing customized hardware and software designed to track the full 3D motion of the device, while simultaneously creating a map of the environment. These sensors allow the phone to make over a quarter million 3D measurements every second, updating its position and orientation in real-time, combining that data into a single 3D model of the space around you.

It runs Android and includes development APIs to provide position, orientation, and depth data to standard Android applications written in Java, C/C++, as well as the Unity Game Engine. These early prototypes, algorithms, and APIs are still in active development. So, these experimental devices are intended only for the adventurous and are not a final shipping product.

Where can this be used?

What if you could capture the dimensions of your home simply by walking around with your phone before you went furniture shopping? What if directions to a new location didn’t stop at the street address? What if you never again found yourself lost in a new building? What if the visually-impaired could navigate unassisted in unfamiliar indoor places? What if you could search for a product and see where the exact shelf is located in a super-store?

Imagine playing hide-and-seek in your house with your favorite game character, or transforming the hallways into a tree-lined path. Imagine competing against a friend for control over territories in your home with your own miniature army, or hiding secret virtual treasures in physical places around the world?

Sure without doubt this would be next generation smartphone!

Facebook Era - Facebook to buy Whatsapp

The social media giant Facebook will buy the mobile messaging giant Whatsapp for $19 billion. This is an awesome move by Facebook after it's acquisition of the photo sharing service provider Instagram in 2012 to bring more younger users into the social media.

To note that , Whatsapp was founded by a Ukrainian college dropout, Jan Koun and alumnus of Stanford , Brain Acton. Whatsapp has around 450 million users in last five years. This deal of social media giant moving closer to the heart of mobile communication will surely bring more new users into Facebook .

But there is always a question in the mind about Data security. Will there be a security issues with the users private data? Whatsapp being accessing your contacts as such , now it may be a concern whether Facebook will be able to access the same. But, the deal says that Whatsapp will be functioning as a separate entity , so the threat towards the security may be lesser. But, still Facebook should be responsible in handling the user's data. I feel it's apt to name it as "Facebook era", don't you feel the same!
